endometriosis information and stories

I am currently working on gathering information and stories on all aspects of living with endometriosis.Living with endometriosis for 10 years and often finding it a complicated battle that went well beyond my doctors knowledge I found myself often fighting unusualy and frightening at times symptoms I wasn't always capable of tolerating and often found myself in a fight with my doctors for help he was not able to provide. I often resorted to my own research of mysterious symptoms and the often less then acceptable treatments endometriosis patients face in the course of this disease. Armed with knowledge I thought that I would get the help I had needed but there were many myths and misconcepts on this disease that many doctors had conflicting information about. I wanted to get to the heart of why this is happening and what can be done to help not only myself but others who find themselves diagnosed, being lied to, or uneducated doctors who are not able to treat them but try anyway. Bless the good doctors out there who have devoted their practices to helping their patients who are suffering. To those who have myths and missinformation I am working at trying to unlock the door to why this has happened and help change the face of how doctors intereact with endometriosis patients. I became aware in the course of my own researching of these topics that most doctors were not seeing endometriosis patients in residency programs and I hope to change this. Many women suffering from the often painful affects this disease has over their bodies also go on to suffer some form of psychological abuse in their doctor offices. While I am not against the medical community as a whole I am aware there is a need for change and that the cries of the patients are not being heard. I hope that those whom land on this web site find the information within a helpful tool for themselves to better understand this disease and the many aspects women with this disease face. I invite you to invite family and friends who might still be living in denial or worse with the myths that often circulate as to the cause of this disease so they may also learn more about this disease and the utmost importance of supporting you through this.
My heart goes out to all the ladies inflicted with endometriosis. Together we stand strong and together we can make a difference.
